Happy Birthday Michelle & Nico!!!

Since they delayed my flight an entire day we decided to go out for breakfast to a place Jorge has been wanting to take me since I came to Ecuador. It was so good and I'm glad we finally got to go.

Stella is seriously getting so independent. She always says "by yourself" when she doesn't want any help. This is a photo of her taking her medicine all by herself. I'm so proud of her!

Look a this little guy! He is the cutest, sweetest, most mild mannered baby. He turned one today, Happy Birthday Nicolas!!

Family Time

We spent the day today on Isla Santay. They just built a walking bridge to this little island in the middle of the river Guayas. The island is covered in mangroves and lush vegetation. We saw the most beautiful blue butterflies! They were quick so I could never get a picture. I LOVE spending time w/ my two favorite people.

Family Goodbyes

Jorge's aunt Jenny invited us over for dinner to say goodby to Stella and I. All the family was there and it was so nice to spend one last evening with everyone before we go. We are really going to miss everyone. :'(

This little puppy was left abandoned by his mother along w/ one sibling. Jenny's dog took it in as it's own and is actually nursing it. Who knew that was even possible.

Renata, Stella's cousin, giving Stella a huge hug.

Garage Sale

So today we had a garage sale. The entire event lasted 5 hours, we had 4 potential customers, 3 purchases, and made just over $10. Not the most successful endeavor :(

Happy 4th of July & Goodby Saltos

I was feeling a little homesick today after seeing everyone's posts celebrating the 4th but I decided to take matters into my own hands. The first thing I did was service. Whenever you are feeling crappy doing something nice for someone else is a huge lift on your road to happiness/ the next thing I did was make these little cuties below.

After eating our pancake "breakfast" we went out for a walk. We met two teenage girls who were selling cupcakes to earn money for cheerleading. The sprinkles looked like they were red, white, and blue when we were outside which mailed the purchase more appealing. Inside the house they were definetly multi colored.

Then we headed to the airport to drop off the Saltos who are traveling tonight to. NH to. Is it their daughter. I loved that American Airlines was representing even in Ecuador.

Goodby Jorge and Maria Ines, we'll miss you!

Dyspepsia

Stella has been sick for 3 days now and today we took her to the doctor. He diagnosed her w/ Dyspepsia. According to Wikipedia, it's basically indigestion. I'm not sure how I feel about the diagnosis because I was expecting something different but I'm grateful that it's relatively minor.

Night out

Sometimes it's so hard to get out of the house, whether it's arranging child care or coordinating schedules, but when it does work it's so worth it. We'll really going to miss everyone.
